‘Behind the Scenes’ celebrates the talent within the performing arts all of which embody a level of craftsmanship in their specialist roles, some of which are much less idolised than others, without them the magic that comes in a theatre performance would never exist. Using words inspired by movement - Bounce, Twist and Sway this collection has further been influenced by Alice in Wonderland as the artistic creativity within the story and adaptations allows anyone to escape reality and make them smile.
A follow-on collection Musculus Memoria looks at mental wellbeing in performers this industry holds a great honor, to stand side of stage where so many before have been stood warming their bodies and reciting their lines it becomes ritualistic. Repetition is a key methodology for the body and mind, but can it push performers mental states to the breaking point or can repetition become their meditative state that keeps them in balance?
