High Tides
High Tides is an Autumn/Winter 2024 collection focusing on preserving and protecting the Northeast coastline. The destruction humans have caused to our planet after coming out of lockdown inspired me to promote the importance of preserving and protecting the places we love. For me, this is the Northeast coastline due to my personal connection, with the coast being a place where I have made many memories with family and friends. I wanted to celebrate its unique features that I love, such as the ripples of the sand, the textures of the moss and the layers of the rugged cliffs. In my work, I integrated several sustainability-focused strategies. For example, my collection is made from 100% biodegradable yarns such as cotton, wool and linen which helps to break the cycle of clothing to landfill.
My second collection is called "Into the Wild," which was a personal collaborative project with All Saints. I chose them due to their aesthetic and design philosophy resonating with my personal style and design approach. I noticed a prominent use of animal prints, which sparked my inspiration to delve into a jungle theme. I explored the rich and diverse characteristics of the jungle, taking inspiration from the intricate details of various animals such as crocodiles and zebras.
