Mutate to the Future
Mutate to the Future is an Autumn/Winter 23/24 collection that is inspired by viruses and the idea living outside the earth in 2050. This collection are inspired from space suits and space suit underwear, T-1 pressure suit and Klari Reis' artwork. The silhouette are influenced the oversized space suit outer layer and the tight body con ideas came from the space suit underwear. The garments is produced from knitted fabric structure with enhanced stretch and recovery permits full body movement.
The colour palette and texture are inspired by Klari Reis' artwork, which is based on viruses growth. I also experiment with different media to create my own viruses inspired art. This results in a combination of bright colourful colours. To combat climate change, this collection reduces waste by applying a zero-waste fully fashioning method on my knit garment and utilising deadstock yarns from industry.
