Celerity: Swiftness of Movement

With a keen interest in geometric and graphic colour separations, I am an aspiring free-lance print designer. My passion lies with screen-printing, digitally drawn, layered repeats in particular. My inspiration predominantly stems from power and movement, capturing depth and impact within my designs.
My final collection, Celerity: Swiftness of Movement, draws inspiration from the feelings created by fast-movement under the cover of darkness. The technical screen prints and reflective vinyl prints come from the way cars reflect street lights and the graduation of light upon a metallic surface. Driven by functionality, the pattern cutting is designed for the keen midnight runner. Taking ideas of compression and tension from Kinesiology tape, specifically placed paneling follows and supports vulnerable muscle groups. Carefully designed details, such as ponytail slots, thumbholes and pockets, help to tie the print and pattern cutting together.
Having already worked closely with streetwear designer, Wreckreation, along with an array of live projects, I have begun to demonstrate a strong capability for following a brief and creating striking, impactful prints.
