Luke Smith has taken inspiration from various themes such as Architecture and Japanese armour, he fused these inspirational subjects looking at various elements such as dimensions, colours and layouts. The designer used these inspirations to create innovative new fabrics combining techniques such as fair Isle, felting and stitch manipulation. He has exploited high quality yarns and fibres to develop forward thinking fabrics, always mixing fibres to combine interesting qualities to create individual, exciting and new outcomes in the area of knitwear design.
Throughout the collection Luke Smith approached knitwear design from a new prospective, bringing to the discipline complex pattern cutting techniques to best compliment and enhance his knitted fabrics.
He sees his customer as a successful entrepreneur in his late 20’s early 30’s who values good quality pieces. The collection is his capsule wardrobe that he invests in year on year.
