Sporting Mum’s Legacy
This autumn/winter collection has taken inspiration from my mum's high school athletic achievements. Using varsity badges and pins to create textured conversational prints to exhibit her athletic achievements as a young adult, overlooked at the time, will be brought to light. By playing with contrasting scales of motifs and repeat formats, compositions will appear abstract. Looking at collections such as the Gucci and Adidas Fall 2022 collaboration, Miu Miu A/W 2017. I took inspiration from how they have portrayed nostalgia through prints using significant items. I took these collections' requirements and created my own direction using my mum's significant items. Expect to see a tonal, vintage colour palette constructed with traditional varsity navy. The silhouette will be boxy and youthful, inspired by my mum's high school sports uniforms combined with sport luxe elements.
