Escape to the Rave SS/19 embodies the escapism and novelty that one experiences when attending a rave or festival, through the use of bright colour, graphic prints and voluminous sleeves. The aesthetics of the collection are derived from special effects used at raves and festivals, such as lasers, fireworks and confetti. These are translated into colourful, busy, graphic prints, iridescent textures and voluminous shapes, creating positive and playful garments. Collaging imagery of fireworks influences the voluminous and a-line silhouette of the collection. Looking back at the history of rave culture and the 1990s-underground scene it has evolved from influences key garments such as wide leg trousers and the slightly baggy/oversized fit of some of the garments.
