NOSTALGIC FLUIDITY
My collection juxtaposes themes of 1970s disco; the metallics, hallucinogenic prints and halter necks, with themes of the sea; the idea of fluidity, flow and the water connecting living organisms. I was inspired by the vibrancy the disco era, studio 54 and the untangible essence of euphoria and connected-ness. Nature can bring about these same feelings, so in a sense the two seemingly separate themes seem to harmonise.
Organic, fluid prints and tonal colourways are prominent, with pops of metallic accents throughout. Silhouettes are an amalgamation of voluminous shell shapes with lighter garments being more fitted to the body, creating an ethereal collection with an edge.
